Mum of one, soon to be two and author of Confessions of a NICU mum
I am mother to Elijah my beautiful heart warrior. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot 12 hours post birth and suffered a neonatal stroke and admitted to NICU for 9 days. Elijah had open heart surgery at Great Ormond Street at 6 months old and had a full repair done.
He is now a tearaway toddler causing mischief where ever he goes! It took me a long time to process those first months of having a baby in NICU, and going though the trauma of my child needing life threatening surgery.
I am now writing a blog; confessions of a NICU Mum in hope to help others in the same situation, or for others to relate in the highs and lows of raising a toddler, and to honestly confess to what it is like to be a NICU Mum.
